In true modern Disney fashion, two Japanese women made their dreams come true in the most glorious wedding ceremony. After 13 years together, Haru and Ryo got married at Tokyo DisneySea donning Frozen-themed gowns. The couple initially got engaged at the same place at a Halloween party dressed as Rapunzel and Flynn from Tangled.
Same-sex marriage unfortunately isn’t legal in Japan although some localities do recognize same-sex partners. The couple decided they wanted to live as wives and show their love in a ceremony with their family and friends. Sometimes that’s all we need.
Hopefully Japan will allow gay and lesbian marriage become a part of their world.
