In a vary Paris Hilton-esque manner, former ‘Jersey Shore’ reality star Angelina Pivarnick has issued an apology for her anti-gay remarks and stance on gay marriage in a online interview. While Hilton’s statements were secretly recorded while she was intoxicated, Pivarnick’s opinion was voiced in a online gay mariage debate with openly gay singer Adam Barta. She stated, “I don’t think gays that should be married. If you want to date each other fine.” More nonsense followed, which brought her much criticism and media attention. Now a week later, Pivarnick tells TMZ “I’m starting to understand that no one should be denied the chance at happiness that marriage brings.”

“Many of my gay friends reached out to me afterward … to inform me of how ignorant my comments were,” She added while apologizing to those offended. And changing her original stance completely, she said,”I wouldn’t want anyone to tell me that I couldn’t marry the person I loved, and I don’t want to do that to anyone else regardless of sexual orientation … I think other people like me can have their minds changed once they meet gay couples and families. We shouldn’t ban love or marriage for a happy couple. That is UNAMERICAN!”
To prove her words, Pivarnick said she plans to work with a pro-marriage equality organization named the Imperial Court of NY on their next fundraiser in November. Many others from the ‘Jersey Shore’ have already been supporting the LGBT community such as Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jennifer “JWoww” Farley, Samantha Giancola, Vinny Guadagnino, and DJ Pauly D; most of who recently took part in this year’s Spirit Day.
