LGBTQ Vacation Company VACAYA Helps Support Performers During the Pandemic

LGBTQ vacation company VACAYA is bringing entertainment to everyone during the coronavirus outbreak. Starting March 28, at 8pm ET, VACAYA will begin their Saturday Night Spotlight.

Each weekend, the spotlight will feature a different performer, live from their own home. VACAYA knows that entertainers have suddenly stopped being able to generate any income, so in response, the company decided to create a way where their talent could still perform. Hence, Saturday Night Spotlight was born. VACAYA will be paying their performers per show, and a Venmo tip jar will also be available.

To watch, all you need to do is like VACAYA’s Facebook page and then tune in every Saturday at 8pm ET.

First up, on March 28 is Tori Scott with Brandon James Gwinn on the keys. Tori Scott is a cabaret performer, actress, and comedian who regularly performs at Feinstein’s in San Fransisco and the famous Joe’s Pub and 54 Below in New York City. She’s known for her mashups of popular songs and showtunes.

Then, on April 4, the next performer will be Sister Helen Holy. Sister Holy is the drag character of improv artist Paul J. Williams. Sister Holy is a baptist and her shows incorporate a mix of music, news, and “scripture interpretation.” You can count on a much-needed hilarious night during your lockdown season.

After the first two shows, VACAYA will hint at the next week’s performance at the end of each show.

Be sure to tune in Saturdays at 8pm ET on Facebook Live!
