Logo Documentary ‘Out & Around’ To Premiere Monday, August 17

“Out and Around,” a new documentary, will premiere on Logo on Monday, August 17 at 9 P.M. The documentary, in association with the It Gets Better Project, follows San Francisco couple Jennifer Chang and Lisa Dazols during their 342-day expedition around the world, meeting LGBT leaders from more than a dozen countries along the way.

The documentary follows the couple, who decide to quit their jobs and embark on the year-long journey, as they travel and discover LGBT communities in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, China, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Nepal, Philippines, and Taiwan.

“The stories that Jenni and Lisa captured are a beautiful and artful look at the common humanity that transcends borders and unites us all,” says Pamela Post, head of Logo Original Programming.

Actress Abbie Cornish narrates the film, which features stellar tracks from Mary Lambert and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Tegan & Sara, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Cayucas, and many more.

“This film not only tells about the changes happening in this historical time, but the changes that happened in my own family as I came out,” said Executive Producer Jenni Chang. “I wanted to travel and connect with other people of color like myself. I discovered my new global family.”

Jenni and Lisa’ documentary, equal parts groundbreaking and heartwarming, features vlog journals, interviews and footage from around the world, and glimpses into the couple’s relationship along the way.

Brett Peters, Communications Director for the It Gets Better Project, said on the release, “We’re excited to once again partner with Logo to reach LGBT youth with a message of hope. By watching Jenni and Lisa’s tremendous journey, we are able to see the potential for our own adventures in a quest to be our authentic selves.”
