Malta Could Soon Replace Civil Unions with Gay Marriage

The country granted civil unions by an act of Parliament in 2014, and gay marriage was debated last year thanks to the country’s prime minister, Joseph Muscat, who said that he was in favor of gay marriage.

The bill has the support of both major parties with the opposition party leader saying that he sees no harm in renaming it gay marriage as gays and lesbians already have the same rights. [TM]
