Marriott Rewards is getting in on the world’s wacky obsession with Pokemon Go by sponsoring one player’s trip around the globe, all in the name of chasing rare, location-based Pokemon across three continents.

Nick Johnson, 28, is a New Yorker and bona fide Pokemon Go master. He’s also what other Pokemon players might consider a thing of legends. After becoming the first user to catch all 142 of the U.S.-based Pokemon in under two weeks, it appeared his daily ritual of walking four to eight miles in search of Pokemon, had come to a close.

That is, until Marriott Rewards caught wind of the young player’s dedication to Pokemon Go. Naturally, Marriott proceeded to extend Johnson an invitation to travel to Paris, Hong Kong, and Sydney, all on their dime, in search of three elusive, city-bound Pokemon, called Mr. Mime, Farfetch’d and Kangaskhan, respectively.

“Partnering with Nick was such a natural fit for Marriott Rewards because it’s all about giving members the chance to pursue what they love through travel,” Karin Timpone, global marketing officer at Marriott International, tells Adweek. “We’re so excited to help Nick live out his dream as he travels from country to country and shares his story.”

On social media, Johnson has been sharing photos and videos of his Marriott digs across the globe, including Marriott’s Renaissance Paris Arc de Triomphe Hotel, the Renaissance Hong Kong, and Pier One Sydney Harbour Autograph Collection Hotel, along with his adventures in professional Pokemon catching. Today, after catching his first two targets, Johnson roams Sydney in search of Kangashkan, not to be confused with Genghis Khan. On the final leg of his travels, Johnson says he’d be remiss to pass up a unique opportunity.

“I’ve been pretty passionate about Pokemon for a long time. I played the game as a kid, and my girlfriend and I both watched the TV show,” said Johnson. “I caught ’em all in my original Pokemon games, and to go out and do that in the real world has been a lot of fun. When Marriott Rewards offered to help me reach the goal of catching them all around the world, I jumped at it. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
