National Natural Landmarks Annual Photo Contest

This spring, bring your best camera, sturdiest hiking boots, and keenest eye to one of over 397 National Parks and over 600 national, natural landmarks in the United States and enter the 50th anniversary of National Natural Landmarks Program annual photo contest. “This is the 50th anniversary of the program and we hope people will join the celebration by photographing one of America’s National Natural Landmarks,” said National Park Service Director Jonathan B. Jarvis. “We’re looking for images that capture the beauty and diversity of these natural areas.” While it won’t be hard to gain inspiration for your photo while traipsing the miles of parks, you may want to keep in the back of your mind that the winning photographs will be featured in the 2013 National Natural Landmarks calendar (that’ll show your relatives that that photography major paid off)! Interested participants have until June 30 to submit photos, but don’t forget that along with all US National Parks and Rocky Mountain National Park entrance is free from April 21-29.
