Tyler Rollins Fine Art presents “Elo Progo,” an exhibition of new videos and works on paper by leading Singaporean artist Jimmy Ong. Ong is one of Singapore’s preeminent contemporary artists whose pioneering works in the 1990s focused primarily on sexual identity and gender roles, often within the context of the traditional Chinese family. His most recent show results from his ongoing work with the transgender community in Yogyakarta, Java, Indonesia, and it further explores gender roles in local folk traditions and contemporary society. The exhibition is on view through February 23.
