New York State Promotes Tourism with Equal Rights Destinations

New York is promoting tourism by focusing on destinations associated with equal rights, including places like the Stonewall National Monument in New York City, and the Harriet Tubman Home in Auburn.

Governor Cuomo announced the initiative in May to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Women’s Suffrage. The idea is to celebrate the role New York has played when it comes equal rights movements that include African American, women’s, LGBT, and human rights.The state is using TV spots to feature theses places as well as a brochure that details their historical significance.

New York will also be host to World Pride in 2019 in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion, which is synonymous with LGBT rights movement.
