The New York Times published a fantastic article called “How Two Producers of ‘Transparent’ Made Their Own Trans Lives More Visible,” in today’s paper. Both the editorial and the accompanying photographs follow the lives of Zackary Drucker and Rhys Ernst, the award-winning producers of the Amazon show Transparent. The two also have released a photographic book called Relationships following their relationship over the past six years (many of the book’s photos were first shown at the Whitney Biennial).
The two now aren’t a couple, but they felt the history as two trans people shouldn’t go unseen. Abdm better yet, the book also serves as a great example of trans people taking control of their own stories.
