We fell in love with H&M’s new ad featuring a range of everyday modern women, but the women over at One Million Moms took issue with the ad featuring a transgender model. Unfortunately for the conservative-action group, they focused their attention on a cisgender woman and not the actual transgender model.
“H&M’s newest ‘She’s A Lady’ commercial includes a woman wearing skimpy lingerie and ends with two teenage girls kissing while underwater. Parents find this type of advertising inappropriate and unnecessary especially since H&M’s target market is teens,” a statement read.
Before correcting it, a previous statement criticized the ad for showing what appears to be a man in women’s clothing. The screenshot used, though, was actually the boxer Fatima Pinto, who is cisgender.
The ad does feature a beautiful transgender woman though, and that’s actress, writer, and model Hari Nef.
