On Saturday evening, Uzo Aduba came out on top with her second consecutive Screen Actors Guild Award for her portrayal of Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren, a lesbian inmate on the Netflix original series Orange Is The New Black.

Aduba took the win as an opportunity to honor “the actors who are at home, not here in this room with us but hoping one day to be in this room with us.”

Aduba thanked Jenji Kohan for “creating a show that reflects so many people,” while urging fellow actors to keep on trying, “to keep plugging to keep working.”

“No matter if no one tells you to get out of that line that you’re waiting in, stay in line, you have the chance, it is yours,” she said.

Later in the evening, Aduba joined her OITNB co-stars when the ensemble cast won for outstanding cast in a comedy series.

Actress Laura Prepon spoke on diversity in Hollywood, ushering toward her cast, “This is what we talk about when we talk about diversity. Different race, color, creed, sexual orientation.”
