Pakistan Bans Discrimination Against Transgender Women

Thanks to two bills in Pakistan, it will soon be illegal to discriminate against transgender persons when it comes to education, housing, and inheriting. The bills were introduced to the National Assembly: one would amend sections of the Pakistan Penal Code and Code of Criminal Procedure (making it illegal and punishable by up to six months in prison if caught discrimination), while the other, The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill, would allow these anti-discrimination laws to be more inclusive of all trans people while proclaiming them an integral part of society.
