Janesville, WI – hometown of the U.S. Representative Paul Ryan, who opposes to same-sex marriage, put itself on the map today as taking a more liberal view of same-sex rights than those expressed by Mr Ryan. Janesville’s city council has passed a measure that offers benefits to gay city and library employees and their partners. The decision to pass the measure cited the hope that a more inclusive  policy of equal rights will allow Jainesville and the state of Wisconsin to progress toward building a “stronger and more diverse workforce,” as vocalized by Kate Belanger of the LGBT organization Fair Wisconsin.
