You could spend the winter months cuddled up by the fireplace, shivering for warmth, or you could brave the cold and even take the snow head on at the Québec Winter Carnival, beginning on January 29 and ending on February 14.
In 1894, Québec held its first Carnival celebration. Today, the annual festival is helmed as one of the largest, if not the largest winter carnival in the world. Revel in winter sports from hockey to ice skating, and join in on the festival’s many traditional activities, like the annual dogsled races. Canoe races are big during this festival, too, featuring an array of teams paddling head to head on the frigid waters of the St. Lawrence river.
Warmer days will be back again soon, so enjoy winter in Québec while you still can! For additional information, click here.
