The European LGBTQ+ Travel Alliance (ELTA) has partnered with Rail Europe to promote diversity and inclusivity in the travel industry.
The collaboration will include specialized journeys and packages exclusively available to members of the LGBTQIA+ community. According to Rail Europe, these deals will emphasize “a collective dedication to fostering a welcoming and safe travel environment for all, irrespective of gender, sexuality, or identity.”
Specialized journeys for LGBTQIA+ travelers will stop at culturally and historically significant destinations, but will also support the community by transporting them to festivals and pride celebrations across Europe. “It is a historic agreement for LGBTQ+ tourism that we are now able to count on the support of such an important player in the rail industry,” said Alessio Virgili, president of ELTA.
ELTA is an organization based in Brussels helping foster the growth of LGBTQ+ tourism and promote inclusion across Europe. Based in Paris, Rail Europe acts as a global reference for European train booking for the past 90 years. Those looking to book train journeys can book directly through Rail Europe and access a catalog of leading rail providers including Eurostar, Trenitalia, Italo, DB, Renfe, SNCF, SNCB, National Rail and more.
“At Rail Europe, diversity isn’t merely a concept; it is one of our foundational pillars, deeply embedded in our values. Partnering with ELTA allows us to reinforce our commitment to championing the spirit of inclusive and accessible travel across Europe,” said Björn Bender, Executive Chairman and CEO of Rail Europe in a press release. “The journeys we offer not only connect cities but also cultures, communities, and people, honoring the rich, diverse spectrum of experiences and identities that traverse our continent.”
