Rock legend and king of glam David Bowie has died at the age of 69 due to complications of cancer. The famous singer, writer, performer, and world-famous bisexual died peacefully after an 18-month battle with cancer. During his near four-decade-long career, the singer became a household name for his music as well as his over-the-top stage presence that included flamboyant outfits and make-up, often blending gender lines. Bowie made headlines in 1972 when he came out as gay. “I’m gay and always have been, even when I was David Jones,” he told Melody Maker. But later revealed he was bisexual and ultimately saying he was a closeted heterosexual.
Regardless of his sexual orientation, Bowie’s legacy and impact on music and world pop culture can still be felt today.
