It’s been a long, long time—23 years, to be precise—since RuPaul has graced us with a dragged-out, holiday TV spectacular.
RuPaul’s 1993 “Christmas Ball” on VH1 pulled out all the stops, with celebrity appearances from La Toya Jackson and Nirvana to none other than Boy George.
So, hold on to your stockings, hunty. RuPaul is bringing his homo-for-the-holiday showstopper back this year, along with his girls, of course, for RuPaul’s Drag Race: Green Screen Christmas.
Giving a whole new meaning to slay ride, Ru will turn it out alongside American Idol’s Todrick Hall (appropriately, to the tune of “Deck the Halls”), Big Freedia and Ellis Miah (“Jingle Dem Bells”), Michelle Visage (“From Your Heart”), Siedah Garrett (“Brand New Year”), and Markaholic (“My Favorite Holiday”).
“This holiday TV special and new Christmas album Slay Belles are my gifts to all the truly twisted RuPaul’s Drag Race fans around the world, who continue to inspire me with their love for everything sickening and fabulous,” says Mama Ru.
RuPaul’s Drag Race: Green Screen Christmas will premiere on Sunday, December 13 at 8pm the on Logo Network.
