Despite sub-zero temperatures, gay-rights activists held a major kiss-in protests outside of the Parliament building where legislatures debated a bill that imposes large fines for the promotion of homosexuality and pedophilia among minors. The first hearing of the bill was originally scheduled for December 19, but was moved to sometime in early January. This, though, did not deter the activists who staged a kiss-in. The lesbian and gay communities feel that the bill, if passes, will make them “invisible” and that it “discriminates against a group of citizens, and violates their basic rights and freedoms, and insults their dignity, the heterosexuals claim.” [RT]
