In Ryanair‘s cost-cutting crusade, they announced, via their in-flight magazine, that they are looking into installing coin-operated bathrooms. It would require travelers to pay either one euro or one British pound ($1.33 or $1.52) for access to the bathroom on flights lasting one hour or less. If the airline were to go ahead with the plan it wouldn’t be until at least 12-18 months until Boeing installs the new restrooms.
In order to squeeze more people on its planes, Ryanair is also considering eliminating two of the three lavatories. Bottom line is, layoff those pre-flight beers. [CNN]
