Scotland Pardons Men for Past Gay-Sex Convictions

Scotland has finally passed a law that pardons gay men that were convicted of having consensual gay sex while it was criminalized. The government brought fort the Historical Sexual Offenses (Pardons and Disregards) Bill late last year. Men who continue to have the “crime” on their record will now be able to have their record cleared.

Gay sex for men over the age of 21 was illegal in Scotland up until 1981.
