Singaporeans Fight for Marriage Equality with New Petition

A new petition has garnered over 10,000 signatures to revise and review Section 377A of the country’s penal code that criminalizes gay sex. A government committee is currently reviewing the country’s Penal Codes, so a push for a review of 377A could happen if enough pressure is put on the committee.

Currently gay sex is punishable up to two years in prison.

The petition that has over 10,000 signatories comes after India’s Supreme Court decriminalized gay sex.
