While Spain has granted full marriage equality to its gay and lesbian citizens since 2005, a decision on an appeal against the law will be made by Spain’s Constitutional Court. The appeal was initially filed by the conservative Popular Party back in 2005 on the basis that the Spanish constitution meant that marriage is a union between one man and one woman. While the appeal has been filed for seven years, a court spokesperson said the tribunal will study the appeal later today and is expected to vote. Let’s hope they make the right decision and uphold Spain’s parliaments initial decision. [AP]
