University Bans Chick-fil-A Over Its Active Homophobia

A New Jersey university has banned Chick-fil-A at new campus eatery as a response to the company’s widespread and active homophobia. Rider University made the decision despite polling its students on which establishments they wanted to see at their new cafeteria. It appeared that the Christian chicken joint has strong support from students, but University officials decided to remove the fast-food restaurant from the poll. A letter to students said that they were getting rid of the chicken shack based on its “record widely perceived to be in opposition to the LGBTQ+ community…We sought to be thoughtful and fair in balancing the desire to provide satisfying options for a new on-campus restaurant while also being faithful to our values of inclusion,.”

Now if only other universities would follow suit.
