RuPaul’s Drag Race has nothing on D.C.’s 19th Street High Heel Race that sees hundreds of drag queens sashaying down the street in this real-life Stiletto-sized tradition. More than a hundred glittered and costumed people will race down the crowd-filled artery for both fun and fierce competition at the 30-year-old tradition on Halloween. Scott Teribury, who was dressed like a schoolgirl, dethroned drag queen Inertia, by speeding through the crowd of over 15,000 to take top prize. Teribury said he only tried on the heels yesterday and practiced running up a hill. By the end of the race, he couldn’t feel his toes. “I can’t feel my toes anymore. The struggle is real,” he told WTop.
