Watch: LGBT Immigrants Come to the US to Escape Discrimination

According to a March 2013 report by the Williams Institute at UCLA, approximately 904,000 LGBT adult immigrants live in the United States today. Many of those individuals are from countries where they were forced to hide their sexual orientation or gender identity, and they come to the US seeking refugee status or asylum, and ultimately a place to feel free. Buzzfeed profiled four LGBT immigrants who’ve sought asylum in the US to escape discrimination, violence, and persecution in their home countries based on their sexuality.
