Finally, Roseanne Barr has gone too far, even for herself, on Twitter, and she has vowed to leave the social-media platform. The tweet in question compared former Barack Obama aide Valerie Jarrett to a character from Planet of the Apes, which drew the ire of colleagues, including ex-husband Tom Arnold. Other ABC colleagues demanded that Roseanne apologies for the racist tweet.
In a twitter rant the star of the Roseanne reboot wrote: “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj.” Barr was responding to a comment about Jarrett, a top former aide to president Obama.”
Roseanne deleted the tweet, and she said: “I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans,” Barr tweeted. “I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste.”

Update: ABC has canceled the “Roseanne” revival after the tweet, according to Variety. Writing: “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said in a statement.
