Located just off the coast of Split, Croatia, Hvar is becoming an increasingly popular destination. With an ancient and bright marbled city center that hugs a marina, Hvar is perfect for wining, dining, beaching, boating, and one it’s main tourist attractions, beach clubs. At these popular venues you can experience sunset swims at seaside bars, all night parties, and of course more laid back vibes.
Hula Hula Beach Bar
Take a walk along Hvar’s seaside promenade and you’ll know you’re nearing Hula Hula when you hear a thumping bass. This bar is perfect for sunset hours, here you’ll find the dance floor and bar perched over the sea, and special sections offer chairs for sunning and lounging where you can sit and sip cocktails from 9 A.M. until 10 P.M.. Here you can catch party-goers taking a dip in the water, dancing, or enjoying a meal from Hula’s sister bistro Bubba Gump.
Carpe Diem Beach
Located on its own private island, Carpe Diem is not for the faint of heart. Just to get there, you need to take a ferry out to the private beach on Otok Marinkovac Island. Carpe Diem is open between 11 A.M. and 10 P.M. for those looking to have a day lounging on beach chairs. After closing at 10 P.M., the club reopens from midnight until 5 A.M., and this is when things get a bit crazy. Afterwards, club-goers can take the ferry back to the main island of Hvar NOTE: Be careful not to get Carpe Diem Bar mixed up with Carpe Diem Beach. The bar is located on the island of Hvar and offers lunch, cocktails, and more in a comfortable lounge between 9 A.M. and 2 P.M.
Hvar Beach Club
This beach club is almost cinematic. Built into the coastline of the Adriatic over Bonj Beach, Hvar Beach Club is posh and painted all white for a dramatic effect against the water. The club offers sunbeds, a peninsula section that juts out over the water, a garden cabana, and more private areas to lounge from 10 A.M. to 6 P.M. everyday.
Falko Beach Bar and Restaurant
Falko Beach Bar is known to be a more affordable option for the economical traveler. Open from noon to 10 P.M., Falko has plenty of sunbeds, but they can’t be reserved so get there early to ensure you grab one. Reservations can be made for lunch and dinner at the restaurant where they serve up seafood and many dishes with fresh fruits and vegetables.
Laganini Lounge Bar & Fish House
For a more exclusive experience, Laganini on the island of St. Clement has been serving gourmet cuisine and signature cocktails for 50 years. Reserve a personal cabana, drink at their famous lounge bar, or enjoy deliciously fresh seafood overlooking some of Croatia’s clearest waters. The restaurant is open for lunch between 1 – 4 P.M. or dinner starting at 7:30 P.M.
