Toronto LGBT Film Festival: Inside Out celebrates 25 years this May. “Gone are the days of showing films in a dark basement or indie theatre in a scary neighborhood of the city. The festival now shows most of its films at the TIFF Bell Lightbox, where the International Film Festival takes place. Gays everywhere! Out in the open!” Phil Villeneuve, the arts editor at DailyXtra.com, exclaims about the festival taking place May 21-31. “It’s a wonderful time of the year, not only because of all the cute actors, directors, and film people in general, but because of the parties; and springtime in Toronto,” he adds.

Not only does he spend his day as arts editor for Daily Xtra, the go-to source of LGBT news for Canada, but he’s also a highly regarded DJ at some of Toronto’s more in-the-know parties. But maybe the most interesting thing about Villeneuve’s reputation is his ability to put a smile on the faces of everyday Torontonians who, more often times than not, see him flurrying around the city in epic dances that after being posted online have propelled this nutcracker to viral fame.
