Among preteens and high-school age students, some 47 percent of girls and 34 percent of boys have reported being subject to in-person or online bullying, and the rates only shoot higher for LGBT students (check out the new study from the CDC released today, too).
So, in a renewed effort to strengthen the resolve of victims of bullying, America’s Got Talent‘s Brian Justin Crum, along with gay social app Moovz, is reminding the community to #StayStrong.
The out singer lends his voice to Demi Lovato’s “Skyscraper,” and just absolutely nails it while images of Moovz users from around the world, along with plenty of familiar faces for gay Angelenos, come up on screen, with the #StayStrong hashtag written on their bodies.
Brian has been outspoken about his being bullied in the past, and makes a point to encourage fans to rather than tear down, uplift one another.
“There are few things I feel as passionate about as I do about stopping bullying,” says Brian. “We have all been through it in some way and I want us all to start loving one another,” he said. “I hope we can all soak the message up and #StayStrong.”
