After sold-out shows at downtown’s The Red Room, performer Zachary Clause is bringing his all-new one “woman” comedy cabaret, Sherry Takes a Holiday, uptown to The Laurie Beechman Theatre on Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29, and you don’t want to miss it. The show follows Sherry Duvall-Covington (played by Clause); a single mother and arraigned arsonist turned cabaret chanteuse as she embarks on an all-inclusive Caribbean cruise in hopes of reconnecting with her long-lost daughter.
We know what you’re thinking, and yes, this probably was the plot of a Lifetime Original Movie starring national treasure, Meredith Baxter Birney, and that’s why we love it! The show features a variety of your favorite vacation songs like “Holiday” and Lionel Ritchie’s “All Night Long.” Draped in the finest breathable vacation attire, Clause’s performance is a cross between Nathan Lane in The Birdcage and the waspy mother we’re all thankful we DON’T have but would give anything to share a bottle of Chardonnay with on a lido deck in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean (watch the trailer below to see what we mean). Go see this show!
SHERRY TAKES A HOLIDAY will be performed at The Laurie Beechman Theatre on Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29 at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $22, with a $20 food/beverage minimum. Tickets are available at www.SpinCycleNYC.com, or by calling 212-352-3101. The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located inside West Bank Cafe at 407 West 42 Street.
