The North Carolina Gay & Lesbian Film Festival Kicks Off this Week

Famous for being a small gay enclave in conservative North Carolina, Durham/Chapel Hill, also known as the Triangle Area, hosts one of the largest LGBT film fests in the Southeast. The North Carolina Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, from August 10-19, brings the community together to screen some local and international films to a diverse crowd. Show your support for our friends in the Tar Heel State and attend some of the programs that include documentaries, short films, feature films, as well as comedy acts like two-time Emmy–winner, NY Times–bestselling author, four-time Grammy Award–nominee Kathy Griffin on August 10. When the films festival ends, don’t forget to head toward Franklin St. and see what kind of trouble those University of North Carolina students are getting into over the summer.
