A few weeks ago, nearly 340,000 people marched in Paris against gay marriage. This weekend, pro-gay-marriage citizens responded with their own protest. Over 100,000, people converged to show their support for gay marriage while they waved banners that read “Equality of rights is not a threat” and chanted: “What do you want? Equality! When do you want it? Now!” according to the New York Times. According to reports, the crowd appeared to be a lot younger than the anti-gay protesters and many were “personally invested” in the marriage equality message. Lawmakers will debate a marriage equality bill on Tuesday. [AJ]
