It’s been over a generation since LGBT and black reporters were excluded from the roster of reporters invited to the White House Christmas Party, but the Trump Administration has seemingly left them off the list. This comes after the administration has already taken hits against the community, including completely ignoring LGBT Pride Month.
This will be the first time since President George W. Bush that LGBT reporters were not on the list and the first time in 20 years since black media was excluded.
Chris Johnson, from The Washington Blade, reported that his invitation got lost in the mail. “My first reaction was I assumed it must have been an oversight,” Mr Johnson told the Independent. “It is consistent with the White House press secretary not calling on me during the on-camera press briefings,” he said.
