US State Department Will Allow Mariela Castro to Attend Equality Forum

The US State Department lifted its travel ban on Mariela Castro—a known gay-rights activists—and has authorized for her to attend and participate in the 2013 Equality Forum. The national and international LGBT civil rights summit will take place May 2-5 in Philadelphia where Castro will serve as a panelist representing Cuba and will be the recipient of the International Ally for LGBT Equality Award at the International Equality Dinner.
