In a letter, a group of 72 US House members called on President Obama to institute federal non-discrimination protections for LGBT people in the workplace. The letter asks that Obama issue an executive order that would require companies that do business in the United State to have non-discrimination policies that include sexual orientation and gender identity. “This order would extend important workplace protections to millions of Americans, while at the same time laying the groundwork for Congressional passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), a goal that we share with you,” the lawmakers write.
