It’s was once one of the best-selling bridal publications in Australia, but after it said that it not editorialize same-sex marriage, the magazine will cease publication. Despite marriage being now legal in the country, the editorial team at White said earlier this year that they’ve tried to submit gay and lesbian couples’ weddings to the magazine, but the heads of the editorial team said: “We aren’t sharing same-sex weddings at this point.”
After the announcement the magazine was boycotted by many in the wedding industry as well as advertisers who didn’t want to be associated after the magazine’s bigoted comments.
“Recently we’ve experienced a flood of judgement,” the founders, Luke and Carla Burrell who are conservative Christians, said in a blog post.
They added that running the magazine is “no longer economically viable.”
