Last Thursday police raided the popular Atlanta gay hangout The Eagle and arrested eight people. Of those arrested, four were employees, who police said did not have a proper business license, and four dancers, who did not have a permit for dancing in their underwear. Police also forced all the bar’s patrons on the floor and proceeded to search everyone. Hundreds gathered to protest the police department’s actions this weekend.
The hearing for those arrested has been postponed until September 29, police said. [CBS Atlanta]
