Believe Out Loud Finds New Home at Cathedral of Hope in Dallas

Believe Out Loud is one of the largest digital spaces for religious LGBTQ+ people in the world. The organization works internationally to provide services and a sense of community to LGBTQ people of faith and their allies. Among the long list of services and activities provided by Believe Out Loud, participants can attend live-streamed affirming religious services, digital social events, and they can also find information on mental health and community justice resources.

Recently, Believe Out Loud was acquired by the Cathedral of Hope United Church of Christ. Located in Dallas, the Cathedral of Hope is one of the largest predominantly LGBTQ congregations in the world. By aligning the two organizations together, they will now be able to pool resources and create a strong, welcoming community (both in-person and online) for LGBTQ people of faith and any ally who wishes to join a church consisting of accepting and loving spiritual individuals.

In a statement, Rev. Dr. Neil G. Thomas, Senior Pastor of Cathedral of Hope, said:

“In the face of constant efforts to squeeze people who are different out of public space, it is critical to remain grounded in the deep faith that all people are worthy of God’s love. We are excited to partner with Believe Out Loud to spread that message and be an affirming space for all people of faith and our allies.”
The Mission of the Cathedral of Hope is to reclaim Christianity as a faith of extravagant grace, radical inclusion, and relentless compassion. The church’s beliefs are based upon its Core Values, which are Compassion, Inclusion, Liberation, Hope, and Faith in Jesus. By acquiring Believe Out Loud, the Cathedral of Hope will now be able to reach out to a broader community beyond Dallas and help those around the world.
